Kevin Collins - GUITAR

Kevin has taught guitar in Amherst since 1969. He is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music, and studied guitar at the Aspen Music Festival for nine summers. In New York, he appeared regularly at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center and at The Rainbow Room. Kevin teaches acoustic and electric guitar and uses songs to introduce you to music theory. Formerly, Kevin was Guitar Faculty at the University of Massachusetts Performing Arts Division. Brian Bender - TROMBONE & KEYBOARDSAriel Parkington - VIOLIN & STRING BAND

Ariel has two Masters degrees, from the University of South Florida in Chamber and the University of Arizona: in Violin Performance. She received her BM from Boston University in Violin Performance. She is a Certified Suzuki Instructor. She is currently on the music faculty at Deerfield Academy. Aside from her solo, orchestra and chamber music work, Ariel tours with her family band The Parkington Sisters, recently opening for The Dropkick Murphys at Fenway Park.

Brian plays in Black Rebels (African Reggae), The Wholesale Klezmer Band, Pangeans (World Music) , Fiddle Hill (Celtic), Gumbo Jumbo Dixieland Band and the Brian Bender Jazz Quartet.  Lessons are taught in a fun and relaxed manner.  Brian has a B.A. in Music Performance from New England Conservatory.

Catherine Bell - VOICECatherine Bell - VOICE

Catherine holds the MM degree from UMass in Vocal Performance and she sings with the Five College Music Collegium.  She teaches a variety of styles including Classical, Musical Theater, Show Tunes, Early Music, Folk, Gospel, Blues, Pop, etc.
Curtis Smith - PIANOCurtis Smith - PIANO

Curtis is a patient, thoughtful teacher for both piano and keyboards. He formerly taught at the Stetson University Community Music School full-time. Curtis recieved his Master's in Piano Performance from West Chester University and studied at Paedagogische Hochschule i Freiburg, Germany, and the International Kodaly Institute in Kecskemet, Hungary.

Jim started the Saxophone when he was six. He holds the MM degree in Music Education from UMass and is Mass. Certified in Music Education, K-12.  He has taught for 20 years in public schools and is fluent in several different styles. Currently, he is Instrumental Music Director at Bement School in Deerfield.
Joan Cornachio - PIANOJoan Cornachio - PIANO

Joan has taught piano and chamber ensemble for twenty-five years. She has given workshops in music improv at Lincoln Center and was Co-Director of the Hudson River Revelers Childrens Chorus. Certified in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, she also teaches children's classes in music and movement at the Red Barn. Joan is a creative and happy teacher.

Judy was trained at the Oberlin Conservatory (BMus) and the Yale School of Music (MMus). After a performing as soloist for 25 years, she was on the faculty of Amherst College. She has conducted several small choirs, including I Cantori, the Pioneer Valley Capella, and the Blue Hills Chamber Singers. Judy was Organist/Choir Director of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Brattleboro, Vt. for 9 years.

Kyle started playing piano and writing songs when she was ten. A graduate of Amherst College in Music Composition, she will help you explore the piano and find ways to express your musical ideas while you learn the fundamentals.

As the oldest of four in a military family, Leticia Davies grew up all over the world. Singing in English and Spanish, Leticia began composing as soon as she learned to play the guitar at the age of 12. Leticia honed her high energy, multi-lingual music for children by playing at The Family Center in Amherst, UMass's Music for Families series, and at local preschools, where she is known as "Miss Leticia".

Lynn is Principal Bassist for the Pioneer Valley Symphony and plays with the Gypsy Wranglers.  She teaches acoustic, upright bass and electric, reading and improv.

Rebecca Hartka grew up going to the Waldorf school, from K to 12, where everyone plays strings. Now, she has the DMA in Cello from the Boston University College of Fine Arts, with an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College. And she is still having fun with it! Reneé is a K-12 certified music teacher and previously taught music in public schools in Houston. She completed her Masters in Flute Performance at the University of Houston, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her B.Mus. degree is in Flute, with a secondary major in Voice. Plus, she is currently on her way to becoming certified in the curriculum of a nationally recognized leader in children's music and movement. She plays in the flute and piano duo ImagineMusic with her husband, David Mosher.
Susan Angeletti - VOICESusan Angeletti - VOICE, BLUES & SOUL

Susan has opened or toured with BB King, Johnny Winter and George Thorogood, among others. She trained in voice with Jeannie Diva, founder of the voice department at Berklee College, and received her degree in Vocal Peformance from The New School in NYC. Tristan has played in jazz, funk and rock bands extensively throughout New England, on drums and keyboards. He graduated Cum Laude from Westfield State Teacher's College in Music, and is a MCLA Certified K-12 teacher. He has taught Middle School music and also taught at the Berkshire Hills Academy.
